Where does your Tumblr name come from?
I’ve been using the name “gooneruk” for years online, to the extent that practically every result on google is me, on one site or another. It’s not exactly an easy name to figure out, so here’s my explanation:
The football team I support is Arsenal, and their nickname is “The Gunners”, as a throwback to originally being formed of workers at the Royal Arsenal in London. On our club badge there is the symbol of a cannon too. The supporters of Arsenal refer to themselves as “Gooners” in a sort of jokey reference to that and possibly also the Goon Show.
With “gooner” taken on a lot of sites, I added the “uk” bit to make it a bit more unique. I always spell it lowercase, and pronounce it gooner-u-k, rather than gooner-ruck, which I have heard a non-footballing friend say.

dabas it what my friend Tina calls me because one day i was talking to her on AIM and i said “i’m blue da ba de da ba da” and then proceeded to say “it took me a long time to figure out the dabas” and just from then on she calls me that. so when i was trying to figure out a name a lot of the names i typed in were already taken… like Shorty which i’m 5’1 so lots of peole call me that and thats what she said was taking too… and then tina happened to call me so i just put dabas…
